I have a half acre pond that I just had partially redug and wanting to kill fish to start over, I cannot find the rotenone to use and someone suggested hydrated lime but not sure on how much to use on a half acre pond thats been drained down to 2 feet, any suggestions

Rotenone is a RUP (restricted use pesticide) and can only be purchased if you hold the correct applicators license. Go buy a set of pH test strips and make sure that they can read to 11.5 or higher. Keep adding hydrated lime until the pH reading is 11.5 or higher. Start with 300#, but you may have to double that or a bit more. That's why you need the test strips.

How would I add it to the pond, do I just sprinkle it around the pond or do I have to get out in the middle

Before using the hydrated lime and since the pond has only 2 ft of water in the bottom, which is a minimal amount due to V bottom, I would pump out at least another 1ft, 1.5ft or best 2ft of the water and then add the lime. The shallower the water hyLime will be more effective and you will need fewer pounds plus your chances of killing ALL the fish are way better with very shallow water and higher concentration of hyLime. Not getting all the fish dead will result in wasting time, money, and causation of future headaches and aggravations of trash fish. Take some extra time to do it right the first time.
