Trying to get Photobucket to work. Finally got a few pics up. First is 7 yr old grandson with a SMB. Next is son in law holding first HSB ever caught on the pond. (Second attempt at stocking, this one was stocked last fall). And third pic is the mess I’m dealing with. Over 100 trees down due to 90 mph winds.

12 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (decreasing), SMB, and HSB (only two have been seen in 5 yrs)
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.

The pic with the smile attached to a kid is what this stuff, to me, is all about.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

That SMB has quite a gut. Definitely isn't suffering from a lack of groceries.

He did! He had the pond record for a day. His dad broke the record the next day.
He’s a twin. His twin sister almost fishes as hard as he does. They were born during the initial excavation of our pond. Their mother (our daughter) was a little miffed at me for leaving their home and spending time at the pond site. Ha! She’s happy with it now.

I'm so glad nobody told the twin sister that "girls aren't supposed to fish" or that fish are icky (whatever that means). Fishing is a wonderful sport for everybody!

Yep, Steve has it right. Pond is up by Mark Twain Lake. Just southwest of Hannibal MO.

So I had some time yesterday to do some fishing in the pond to evaluate whats there and how they were doing, caught a bunch of young LMB that were stocked in Oct of 2020, along with BC, have not been able to catch a single BC but the LMB that I caught are doing extremely well, full as a tick, I did however catch a three of the WE fingerlings that I just stocked this spring along with YP. the WE are growing really well to as far as I can tell, Ive never caught a WE I don't think, so don't know much about fishing for them, they were hitting on a Crappie jig in shallow water in a couple coves

setterguy, looks to me like you have done a good job with the fish and having a place to bring smiles to the kids, and their mother smile

Thanks Tracy. The one thing I’d still like to do, well there’s actually more than one, is to add a solar aeration system. I think the pond would benefit. I just haven’t pulled the trigger on a system. $$$$!

Pond was completed on Friday! Got some rain over the weekend and have about 2 ft of water in the bottom already. Put grass seed down over as much of it as I could. Raking hard-packed clay to get the grass seed to take wasn't fun, but I'm ready for it nonetheless!

Photos are of the "deep" end. At full pool, I'm estimating it will be between .3 and .4 acres.
