I pulled in a nice, fat 22" Channel Cat this afternoon. I did not even get a glimpse of it until I had it pulled up to the bank. I figured it had to be a CC due to the weight on the line vs. the size of fish in my pond, but couldn't figure out why it behaved unlike any CC I have caught before.

When I pulled it out, I find the hook was imbedded in the top-most spine on the tailfin! I have hooked several Golden Shiners in manners that could best be described as "randomly snagged," but never any other species.

What's the weirdest way you've ever had a fish hooked?
