Walter Bassano called me today about my order of 7k TFS. He said that they actually do have a source in east Texas where the TFS managed to survive the winter. Stocking should happen pretty soon, weather permitting. For those pondmeisters who want the lil fishies, I'd recommend you give Walter a call.

Something interesting: Walter said that the TFS actually overwintered in couple of ponds in my area. Apparently these ponds have a high rate of spring inflows, moderating temperature swings.

Walter is looking for bluegills for me. This year there aren’t a lot of sure things.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Not at all surprised that TFS survived in select locations. Deeper water or that influenced by springs are likely examples.

We had 30-50% survive it appears. High spring flow here.
