The caterpillars are falling in my ponds & the whole area. That means serious bream catches to be had. I had my daughters over saturday & hammered some nice bull bream. Planning on goin down the road to the bayou & really getting serious...I have a family fish fry coming up. Wondering ,does anywhere else have worms falling every year ?? I scraped up a cup full of worms off a tree for bait Saturday & the bream loved it. One of my daughters would put them on the hook but the other wouldn't touch them. LOL

Boone, it good to see you have your daughters involved in fishing and I'm sure with other activities. Something about fishing though, no phone, no tv, no video games, equals more quality time. I can remember my dad taking me fishing and hunting as a kid, it was some of the best times of my life.

Tie up some wolly worms or buy some...give those girls a fly rod and watch...they will be hooked for life.

That's a fly that pretty closely matches caterpillars...you can pick the wraps to match the colors of the worms....very deadly on any fish that has been eating them.

If George reads this, maybe he will post a picture or link. Otherwise do a search on the net for fly tying and find a good one and select the wooly worm...should show you a picture. I'll try to find one when I get the chance also.

The wooly worm is the little brother of the wooly bugger with a yarn tail instead of marabou.

Boone, match the chenille color to the worm color you are seeing and hang on for some fun!
