I don't believe I have ever read a post on Pond Boss where someone said, "I wish I had more shallow water in my pond."
The only exception I can think of, is people getting into the pond (you working, kids by accident) and not being able to get out due to steep, slippery slopes.
Perhaps, you should add one shallower "exit" slope with a shelf for BG spawning beds, etc., and make the rest of the slopes as steep as easily allowed by your soils and construction equipment.
