Chandler, what color is the pea soup? Does it have what look like splashes of neon paint, or bright green, or is it more olive/brown color?
Phytoplankton blooms can be good -- I fertilize every year to encourage my own -- or bad, if they are the toxic cyanobacteria, blue-green type. If not easily describable, you may wish to post a picture. We have experts here who can probably identify it for you.
