I used 4 inch SCH40 and drilled holes all in the riser. I used 2 45's and stubbed it up about 3 ft starting inside of a round trash can with TONS of 1 inch holes drilled into it. Capped it. I then back filled with railroad gravel. It keep debris from clogging and silt from building up by the pipe but it allows for the water to get between the cracks well enough to siphon.

You also can take an air pump and a generator and blow air through your pipe to clear any clogs down below.
