I have about a 1 acre pond fed only buy runoff and wet weather spring. First of all i am in Cullman(north central) Alabama. Last summer i found a drilled well about 30 yards below my damn. We had a very dry summer last year and my pond dropped about 2-3 feet in depth to where all of the shallow was dry. Could i possibly install a pump into the well and pump it over my damn in dry conditions?? Since there is a well below the damn that means there is an underground spring but they never hit it when digging the pond. Before discovering this well i had asked a few people about drilling above the pond to try and find a spring to feed the pond but was told that if i found one above it would drain my pond. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. At time of completion if i remember correctly my depth at the dam was about 14 feet. Thanks for any advice or recommendations.
