My 3rd pond (the one that I hope to make a blue catfish pond) is 1/3 to 1/2 acre, but it is not typical in that it is very watertight and the water supply is almost exclusively through subsurface water. It will be an interesting experiment. It also apparently low in nutrients so far, but gets some leaf litter, so it should have ever increasing nutrients. Plants are currently slow to spread due to clay bottom and shoreline. Even the lotus is struggling, but it did bloom this year, 3 years after planting. It died off where it was planted but has moved to other places through root runners.
