Running air line to the pond is cheaper and easier, but having electric at the pond can be nice too...

Given some system assumptions and some quick pressure loss calcs suggst that the Gast 0523 using 3/4 to 1" id supply line (600') would work well for your pond.

Conditions:

Double diffuser set at 9 foot deep,
600' of 3/4 - 1" ID line beteween pump and pond,
100' of 5/8" from pond edge to diffuser,
properly sized additional plumbing (ID to be same as connecting hose/s) (ie. pressure releif valve, pressure gage fittings, control valves, etc).

These conditons would create a back pressure of 7.5 to 10 psi whcih would yeild about 3 CFM at the diffusers. The pump would be running close to it's max pressure with 3/4" id line for the 600' distance with the diffuser at 9 foot depth. Going with 1" ID line instead of 3/4" would gain you about 1/2 CFM at the diffusers, but that might be pushing their recommended air flow. Do you have any specs on the diffusers (Flow throughput max and lift charts?

If you decide to run electric to the pond and choose to only run the one double diffuser...you migh be able to go with a smaller pump.
