The difference with mammals is they can be easily observed, while fish sometimes go un-noticed in their watery environment.
Still, in order to get a deer to attain its maximum antler potential it needs: (1) Some age, (2) Great nutrition, and (3) genetic potential. You have successfully achieved all 3 with your perch. I believe I'm suffering from perch envy!
I would like to post a picture of our latest perch pond but; it resembles a giant block of ice.
EdGoof points! One thing to consider is yellow perch have not really been domesticated even though they are being feed trained. Who knows what the ultimate size will be?
