my new pond in eastern North Carolina is about .55 acres and is about an average depth of 11 feet deep.In the fall i installed a vertex aerator and stocked my pond with fingerlings 350 native bluegill,150 redears,50 channel cat,and 7 pounds of fathead minnows.This spring once bluegills and faheads spawn i will bring in the largemouth bass.I dont want to stock too many because eventually i want the bass to grow as big as possible.Can any of you guys please give me the recommended numbers of largemouth to stock considering what i want to accomplish?

First good job stocking so far. Exactly what I would recommend for pond, including Vertex. Are you going to feed bluegill, cats? How about fertilizing to maximize production? If so you CAN stock up to 100 lmb per acre. However if you want better growth better to stock 50. In other words some where between 30 and 60 for your pond. If not feeding/ferilizing even less.

Thanks for the advice.i will be feeding the bluegills and cats,but i will not be fertilizing.So if i want larger bass do you think about 30 would be the right number?
