A couple of guys have told me that you can use drilling mud to stop pond leaks. This seems a bit far-fetched to me, but it would sure be cheaper than some other methods. Anyone ever tried this?

Use drilling fluids too seal a leak in a fish pond. Not no but HECK no. They are pulling your leg.

We have a story in Pond Boss, Nov-Dec 2004 about sodium bentonite. It talks of practical ways to apply it, and compares costs. Bentonite is often called drilling mud. Bob,I'm an idiot. I didn't know that bentonite and drilling mud were synonymous. I learn something new every time I look at this great site. By the way, the article is in the Jan./Feb. issue. I just read it. Most informative and helpful. Thanks so much for the tip.
