I catch and release lots of red ear in my pond. Being redear they will sometimes take the hook deep in the throat. If I leave the hook in am I just prolonging their misry or will the hook dissolve with little damage being done. I havent found any dead one floating but the resident blue heron maybe getting them first. thank for your help in advance.
