This site had a pond 1/3 this size, and it had bass.
I made a small pond above the old pond that is
underwater now. (you can see the shallow area this
side of the dock, that was the dam of the small pond I built). As I drained the old pond I caught
bass and put them in this small pond.
When I got the big pond built it filled up and
engulfed the small pond. The small pond was
loaded with bass.
This spring you could see schools of small bass
from the shore.
Have added some fathead minnows since, think they
were lunch.
The bass I caught this summer were healthy. Several of them had bass in their stomachs. A few
of them had crawdads. Didn't find anything else.
So I don't think I have any baitfish in the pond.
