I was curious if anyone on the forum had any experience with the All Season air drive units, before I pull the trigger on a Texas Hunter unit.

I think either the All Seasons or the Texas Hunter product will be a huge upgrade from the years of frustrations, and many replacements due to the lack of availability of parts from WildGame Innovations.

$300 is definitely the budget model.

I would have trouble buying anything else manufactured by Wildgame Innovations. I've experienced failures, with the below directional units, at a rate of one about every 3-4 months of usage for the last several years. The majority of failures have been that the rubber paddle wheel wears out. To make matters worse, Wildgame Innovations does not sale a replacement paddle wheel. I want to ensure the next feeder I buy is serviceable with parts available.

My advice is to go TH and never look back. I have purchased 8 feeders over the past 10 years - all are toast with the exception of my 2 TH feeders which have required zero maintenance. My original unit is going on 11 years this Summer.

No experience with the ASF fish feeders, but damned if they don't make the best wild bird feeder I've ever owned. It's built like a tank, and holds 20#.

Recently I acquired a fish feeder that has been sitting on a dock at a pond I have been fishing for at least 20 yrs, the owner used it for the first year or two and then quit, its sat there ever since. he told me to take it and see if I could get it to work for me.
After cleaning about a bale of hay worth of bird nests and about half a 5 gal buckets worth of dirt from mud dobbers out of the bottom of it I hooked it up to a lawnmower battery and wouldnt you know the darn thin worked for the most part, had to buy a new battery and a little auger that moves the feed into the blower, (the original one had a little gate solenoid that quit working). and Ive got it working like a brand new one, even the solar panel is charging with some new connections that were corroded, th
My question is, is there a way or any trick to use, to discourage birds of prey from perching right on top of it waiting on the fish to feed and take advantage of the opportunity to devour as many as he can while they are feeding?

If I could figure out how I would, but somehow I gotta get him to touch hot and ground at the same time, I did have a coon stick his paw into the fan area to get the few pellets visible I guess and must have mutilated his paw, there was blood everywhere, like it sprayed, must have cut it on some of the sharp edges of the sheetmetal somehow, footprints and blood all over the front of it like he was fighting to get free, a couple piles of shit below,,, he must have had a real bad night. the inside of the chute is lined with blood.

How bout a road cone ....
My GBH lands on the pier then jumps in and catches a BG then flaps until he gets airborne.... funny to watch.... I don�t mind cause it is cheap entertainment

Birds of prey dislike anything that tangles on thier talons.
Maybe an old mop head or something similar.

FWIW I was having a similar problem with birds perching on my pump house. I installed some stainless bird spikes and have not had a problem since. Google bird spikes. There are lots of different ones available.

Bird spikes are easy to make.
1/4" drill bit, scrap lumber and a few old coat hangers. Viola.

Thanks for the ideas guys, Im going to rig up some kinda bird spikes, I dont mind them getting a few and it would probably be fun to watch but the feeder has only been out a couple weeks and its covered in big bird poop along with pellets of fish bones and scales, I havent walked up on it yet without running a bird off of it, I think they just take advantage of the perch in a strategic spot.
