How effective is a bottom draw siphon overflow system in combating low DO and turnover in the summer months? I don't have access to electric and am not using a feeder at my property. My watershed is adequate but not outrageously big. Most everything comes into the pond through two 8 inch pipes behind dry dams. The system hasn't gone into siphon mode that I know of yet and the pond pool level varies only a foot or so. I've had about 24 inches of rainfall since the first of the year, with 16" of that in May and June. Very seldom do I get over 2 inches in one event.

I'm not experiencing any problems as the pond is new, with very little plant life. Just probing to see what I should be on the lookout for.
