Finally, our new HSB / Y Perch pond is completed, filled with water and on its way to final fish stocking. We added 300 adult Yellow Perch in late March and with the help of Mr. Condello, hope to add the Hybrid Stripe Bass in the near future. I would like to thank everyone for their support and comments, especially Bill Cody. With his support and the help of others I believe we may be able to make this combination work. Unfortunately, I do not have a good photo of the new pond. No matter where I stood for the picture, I just couldn't fill the frame with the entire pond? Wow, that is unbelievable. Probably the most beautiful pond I have ever seen. Congrats. With Bruce helping, there is no way you can go wrong.

You're making me sorry all over again I didn't try to move to Big Sky Country when I had a chance for the Air Force to pay for it.

Thanks everyone for your support! Like so many of you, My wife and I do NOT live at the Ranch. . We are however only 30 miles away trying to make a living. Our kids are both in college so as you might suspect we are getting closer to retirement and eventually moving to the place. On a side note; we never had water turkey's until about two weeks ago. One and only one show'd up and made himself a new home. He eventually expired during a severe lightning storm. I don't believe he heard the thunder! Ed

Ed - As word spreads about your pond expect occassional poachers unless ponds are quite remote. The few poachers you do get will be repeat offenders esp if they are successful. Be watchful.

Ed, Bill is right about poachers. I just met with Sheriffs Deputies and gave them a key to my place. The down side is that one of them kept remarking about how many deer I probably saw. They may keep a better watch during deer season.
You have a beautiful place and I am very envious. BTW, I am available for adopotion during the summer and elk season. I'm pretty cheap to keep and don't eat much.

Ed,
I need you to call me. Try cell phone. 402-429-2912. My cell phone's software allows me to receive calls from anyone not named "Theo".
I don't have your number here at work and I just tried to arrange you shipment of HSB. You're gonna need a permit in Wyoming.

Bruce, I'd test your phone software for you, but I am being wary on the possibility that it's a Friday the 13th Joke. I hate to look stupid unless Cecil is involved.

Bruce, as of late, I've just been plagued with these telemarketers calling me trying to get me to refinance my home. Sounds like they have a good deal, but since I just refinanced, I can't use 'em.
So I gave them your cell phone number. They like to call around 6AM each day.
No, no, no....... no thanks necessary, just trying to help.

Ed,
Nice ponds but do your winters come early and last forever? But I suppose you're used to it.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!
I added a picture of the fish feeding station after completion. Maybe Grimes will make me a good deal on my next Stren for the advertising?
Notice the bare banks in the background. We have four pair of nesting/brooding Canada Geese. Didn't someone mention in an earlier post that 10 geese are equivelent to one cow? I believe it!
