Something new with the thaw this spring. I always find a few bullfrogs around the edges, but they were alive. I've even seen them slowing crawling along the bottom through the thin clear ice. But I found this pile up near one of my docks. A couple actually came to life, but the rest had expired. I guess the long, cold winter and prolonged ice cover must have taken it's toll? I do have aeration, and started my shallow diffuser Feb 18th, due to 5 continuous weeks of heavy snow covered ice. This opened a 15-20 foot diameter hole, with vigorous boil at the center. I hope they aren't a harbinger of a fish kill.
