Lets not run Animals off with smartass comments. I'm guessing he/she is talking about an aquarium or water trough. If you want them to grow and don't have minnows growing in your pockets, you need to find some that are pellet trained--A bass needs 9 or 10 pounds of forage fish to gain a pound.
If you are asking about a lake or river...go plastic!
