Bruce, You are unnecessarily scaring people. I have found that a daily ration of Heavy (not light) Budweiser pretty well keeps them at a distance. It must work pretty well. I've never been bitten.
I did however, kill a 47 inch rattlesnake recently. 13 rattles and a button. I wasn't scared though. It was late afternoon and I had already taken my JUJU juice snakebite preventer.
