Thanks Zep. I think do to their thirsty nature they contribute to some water loss in the drier months, but they also keep a lot of the water shaded and cooler. They dump millions of leaves in every fall, but are pretty to look at. We like the peaceful feeling.
Bob, it�s hard to believe you�ve missed some of these hard rains we�ve had in St Louis. Your place is a little like mine. I always see big storms barreling down on the farm, then they magically divide and somehow go around our farm. Eventually you�ll get the series of gullywashers you need. Jeff
12 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep. RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (decreasing), SMB, and HSB (only two have been seen in 5 yrs) I think that's about all I should put in my little pond. Otter attack in 2023.
