Well, Father's day was quite an experience. My Dad and I went fishing at my bigger (1.25 acre) pond and didn't have any success with the big bluegills. Not even a bite. So, at his suggestion we tried one of the growout ponds that we're trying to raise a few big 'gills on pellets. This pond had been the recipient a few months ago of the redears that I was trying to raise on nightcrawlers this winter. He did catch one and here's the result.



Needless to say, I was pretty happy and he was too. I guess the redears are thriving and I got to deliver a good father's day present. By the way, this fish was just over 11 inches long. \:D
