I just liberated 300 eight to ten inch largemouths that I have been feeding pellets all summer in floating cages. Went down to the pond a few hours ago and observed many of them following my 2 to 4 lb bass around the pond like they found their long lost parents. I know they are just following a similar species for security but it's funny to watch. One school even had a one pound perch in it and a 2 pound smallmouth.

I've got a large crop of 2 to 4 inch bluegills and perch this year, and although my larger bass have been feeding on pellets, I suspect they are also patrolling the shoreline picking them off from time to time. Looks like the smaller bass are mimicking them. As in the past, I should get most of these newly released bass to stay on pellets in the vicinity of my pier where the cages were.

Anyone have a similar experience?

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
