Does anyone have experience with stocking freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium Rosenbergii? they seem to grow larger but are a grow out only.

May only be a snack for the bass or in a smaller pond a shrimp boil.

I raised M. rosenbergii two years, back in the early 80's. Raised them in ponds we could drain. They don't like cold water, need lots of organic matter to eat...fish food, vegetation, etc. When you harvest, they are impossible to seine. When you draw the pond down, they cannibalize their molting relatives.
So, discounting the fact they die when cold, can't be seined, and eat each other, they are pretty cool creatures.
Especially with capers and lots of sauce.
Thinking of using them as forage fish? I would pass. Want to grow some to eat? You bet.
