FYI - Was taking my monthly temperature and dissolved oxygen measurements yesterday and found that the recent cool weather has caused my pond to turn over. Had a uniform 20 degree C and about 8 mg/l dissolved oxygen from top to bottom. Maybe it will re-stratify if we get back into some hot weather.

I have seen the same thing in several Midwestern and northern lakes this mild, rainy summer.

During resumption of warm or hot weather the water will quickly restratify but the bottom temps will remain close to 20C the rest of the summer and stratification will be more unstable than it was prior to destratification due to the bottom temp now being close to the surface temps.

Bob & Bill, thanks for your replies. Thought that I would follow up by posting my monthly (almost) data. There is not very much information as of yet. It looks like we were close to a fish kill in March after a long heavy snow cover. Would appreciate hearing your comments and from any other Pond Bosses out there. Let me know if there are better ways to plot the data. Thanks again. Early data
