Male LMB during the spawn season will be oozing milt when the abdomen is lightly squeezed. Catch them off the spawn nests 3-4ft of water s;ightly deeper than last year's BG beds. LMB spawn abt 3 weeks prior to BG.

That would be very hard to anticipate and capture. Water is not as clear this year as last. I'll try to get video. [/quote]

Here you go. The LMB apparently got two BG this evening. It's kind of hard to see, but when you are there, the sound is unmistakable.
I know, I have a lot of FA.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. sps - you will have an extremely hard time if not impossible time finding a fish farm in the midwest that sells just male or just female LMB. These are very specialty fish that very few fish farms in the US sell. There is probably only one or two fish farms in the whole US where males & females are separated for sale. It is talked about on this Forum but not a commonly available item. It is almost an exclusive self procured item by angling.

Too fast for me John, I thought I saw it, but Im not sure. Is there a slow motion option for YouTube? About what time in the video should I be expecting it?

I was told when buying a selected gender desired, one has to buy both sexes and then the fish can be tested and selected for the desired sex. In other other words, selling single sexed fish may or will throw off a sellers 50/50 mix and the next buyer of fish may suspect he will get or has gotten a non-desired mix. So you will most likely buy both sexes and then have them tested for gender, driving up the cost of your selection.

There's a big fish in there at 1:57. Start looking right before that time. I think it shows up a few other times, but this one towards the end is the most obvious.

John, Congrats on the feeding frenzy, that's what I am working up to.

Quarter Acre, right at 54 seconds in too.

With out perch I have out first shoot only 2 seconds. Then wait 10 minutes and do a 4 sec shot then another 10 minutes a 4 sec shot.

I find the first shot brings in the minnows and small perch. The feeding triggers the big boys to show up and that's when we shoot the 4 sec shot. Works well little waste and everyone gets some.

Thank you! A couple of days ago during the feeding frenzy, a LMB missed and knocked a BG about two feet across the water and maybe a foot high. Appeared to be about a 4-5" BG.
