mbj, I live pretty close to Sedalia, MO. At least it's the closest town with some recognition.
I mentioned bugs as a possibility, but it would be unlikely if the feed is fairly fresh. Most bug problems that I have encountered were with dog, bird, and farm animal feeds that were a season too old.
