Some of the wide leaf species are called jungle eelgrass. These wide leaf varieties (species) grow taller and can get to 6'-8'ft tall in 10'-14' of water and longer than the standard eelgrass (V.americana) 5/16"-3/8"" wide. Be aware of this and I would be planting shorter species. Taller species can be a management problem in smaller waters. Eelgrass is harder to kill with most aquatic herbicides.
