BC, I think you should re-stock. If you're not seeing/catching them you had something unusual happen. Especially if your fishing/catching everything else...have you tried top water lures in the a.m. ? Anyway, here's what I'm doing over the next 4 days. I'm ready to stock bass myself, and I have access to excellent breeding material, I'll be fishing for bass to relocate. I will catch a lot of fish...but it's the "superior" fish I'm going to keep and transport. As I've posted before, I love fishing, and it doesn't bother me to be patient, I want to stock only high quality breeders. I would rather stock a bass that comes from a pond with Florida/Native mix and is 25% larger than his peers, it's not rocket science to judge the genetics of a fish. I may not be able to tell you exactly what strain of bass it is, but I will know that for the length, the weight is exceptional compared to other fish it's size...everything else being equal. Caution should be given to transporting possible diseases, only relocate fish from a proven establishment.
Personally, I feel better knowing I selected the breeding material for the future of my pond...but, it's not by the book, again.
