We've been getting the same thing in East Texas. My unscientific opinion is that it is healthy on the long term but may have some short term negatives such as washing out/diluting fertilizer. I'm also concerned about losing the fry of the fatheads, left over threadfin shad, and possibly game fish fry by being carried out over the spillway. I notice a lot of small fry seem to like to hang out in the shallow water of the spillway and they are probably carried off in these downpours. Still, its better than last spring when we received little or no rain heading into the dry summer.
