Take it from someone who couldn't wait to put the bass in, WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR TO PUT IN YOUR BASS. We did the same thing 10 years ago and created a bass-crowded lake in about two years. It is difficult to correct that situation and we are still fighting it today. We have a few very large bass and many skinny bass. We have a fabulous bream lake, but poor bass fishing. If you want a great bream lake, then go ahead and put in bass this summer. If you want a quality bass lake, let the forage have a year to multiply and put in your bass next year and you will see unbelievable growth in your bass for several years.
