A friend recently sent this to me. It is called "Giving automotive advice on Facebook". I don't know the author.
Humorous, embellished, or near-actual, it seems to touch every Internet forum -- including ours.
Enjoy, enhance, ignore, insult ... Whatever!
Person asks question about carb adjustment.
First responder gives good advice.
Second responder agrees, adding one thing.
Next 57 responders have no clue, checking engine oil and air in the tires is now top of the list of things to check along with battery voltage and U-joints.
Responder 58 says WTF, then gives good advice about carb.
Responders 59-80 change subject, repeating bad advice from 55 responders with no clue, conversation changes to paint color and fan belts.
Original 2 responders with good advice give up trying to help at this point.
Original person asking question picks the worse advice FROM those with no clue and goes with that, then check the air in the tires and the battery voltage.
2 days later the question about the carb is again asked in a new thread.
This is not intended towards anyone, except maybe me. Over the years, I've probably been quite guilty of hi-jacking threads.
