Pond Boss Forums POND CONSTRUCTION Selecting a site Digging a pond. How viable?

As the title suggests, I am curious as to whether or not digging a larger pond, say 2.5 +/- acres, is feasibe and if so, what all considerations need be taken into account?

I'm still a younger man, and this is a project that won't come to fruition until later in life, but I'd like to start setting aside money for a piece of property with which to build a house and have a fishing pond. This site would more than likely be in central OK, where the soil types are red clay-y more often than not.

I realize watershed would be a large concern for digging a pond, as it needs adequate inflow, and areas with adequate inflow are normally already watersheds. But what other considerations need considering?

Also, if anyone has any experience digging a pond, please feel free to chime in!
