More work to do, but getting there.

The water has finally filled in as of a week ago. It is now just about 2 feet from the lower deck. The plan for the gazebo is an 8 sided roof with a vented bird cage on top in case I add a fire pit. I am going to build some builtin seating around the back three sections and the alternate steps with railing on the other 5 sections. The lower fishing deck will have railing on the two sides and a slit gate with fold down ladder facing the pond. I have not measured since it filled in but it is about 16 feet deep with about 1 acre in the open area and about 1/4 acre in the creek bed.

Awesome project! East Texas? The gazebo looks great. Is it a local contractor building the gazebo?

Thanks. I appreciate it. My place is just East of I45 between Centerville and Buffalo. Only about 8 miles from Overton's Fisheries. Talk about convenient.

Thanks for the kind words. I am the "contractor" for this project. I am a computer geek during the week so getting out on the weekends and working on projects is what helps me keep my sanity. It is not finished obviously but it is getting there and I am in my late 50's doing this by myself so I am kind of slow. Two of my neighbors have asked that I build a deck/etc. for them. I consider that a big compliment.

The latest image is from yesterday. It shows the full pond and vast improvement of the water clarity with the help of gypsum from Overton's.
