1/3 acre might not be a problem if you manage it by periodic seining. I have a 1/4 acre pond that I once ignored for a couple of years. I did get an O2 crash in it. Now I lightly seine it every spring.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
