Ok guys, bear with me.

I realize I just put my fingerling fish in 2 weeks ago, but curious at what time you begin keeping track of your fish.

I found a chart online, but they start the BG and Res measurements at 6."

So, at what point in time wil my 1-3 and 2-4" fingerlings get to the 6" starting point. I had wanted to do a monthly check on them, but I guess, I'm jumping the gun.

What about my 6-8" catfish? I didn't see a chart for them.

I bought a postal digital scale and basically started catching and keeping records of my cnbg and res at approx. 4 inch. They were approx. 4 months old. Stocked them at about 1-2 inch long.I measured,weighed,and got rw of each and every one. Also average rw of my days catch.They are 2 years old now and I still measure and weigh the large ones. My records and journal I keep has been extremely valuble to look back on.I make notes on everything...when I planted grass,how much I feed, how much rain,water and air temp,water clarity,pond depth,turtles,frogs,birds,otters,...you get the idea. A year from now you won't remember something you wish you had written down. All this is just part of the fun for me. I don't have cc so can't help you there.

Dear Alcohol, We had a deal where you would make me funnier, smarter, and a better dancer... I saw the video... We need to talk.

farmalsc - the Standard weight data for channel catfish is available which includes weights in 1/10" increments from 6" to 35" of channel catfish in a back issue of PB Magazine. Nov-Dec 2013. CONDITION THOSE OTHER PREDATORS. Willis and Lusk provide standard weights and discussion of smallmouth bass, spotted bass, palmetto bass, and channel catfish.

There are way too many data length-weight points of 300 for me to copy all them here. I suggest that you buy the back issue of the magazine noted above for all the standard weights for channel catfish (CC). If you grow a CC longer than 35" Private Message me with the length and I will give you the standard weight for that CC.

Here is a sample of the CC weight at each inch from 6" to 10".
6"=0.054lb, 7"=0.090lb, 8"=0.140lb, 9"=0.206lb, 10"=0.292lb.
Note the weight is in pounds so 0.140 lbs is converted to ounces by: 16oz X 0.140lb= 2.24oz; 0.547 lb X 16oz= 8.75oz; 3.36lb = 3 lb +16ozX.36=5.76 (3lb 5.76oz).
