Greetings everyone, I am a new member in search of some guidance for aeration system. I posted a few questions about algae control in another forum but wanted to see if I can get some advice for aeration system.

A quick background. Purchased a house a few years ago which backed to the HOA pond. It had been neglected for a number of years. Fast forward to today, the pond was emptied and dug out last year. Most areas are between 5-6 ft in depth. Pics "should" be attached below smile

I have been reading quite a bit in the forums about aeration and partnership from chemical control of algae. The challenge I am having is the more I read, the more I am questioning the pump I was looking at.

Aeration Pump/Housing will hopefully be set at the left side of the pond, there is a spot next to the fence and the HOA will have service/meter installed. I will list what I had in mind and please chime in on pump recommendations, or if I am way off base.

Aeration for a 1/4 Acre, rock bottom, max depth 6-ft, overflow on left side, creek on right side.
Pump - Hiblow 100LL (no real reason just seemed to have good reviews and parts available)
Diffusers - 2 x Matala 9" single heads or Vertex??
3/8 Self weighted airline (will need about 140 ft for the 2 runs)

Looks like the Single Matala is 1.4-4.2 cfm. So for the Hiblow and the depth I should be right at 3 PSI correct?

Also looked at the EasyPro EPW10 and the Pondmaster AP100 from snrub's setup. I know the linear seem to be lower life expectancy, but with my depth and setup should I continue going with linear or or look at the Gast 0523? I am clueless with all the different variations of these Gast 0523s and would need some guidance if this is the case.

I assume I could use a manifold on any of these pumps for the 2 lines and a bleeder valve? Should this manifold have 4 outlets, 0-15 PSI liquid filled gauge, 2 lines for diffuser, 1 line for bleeder valve?

Thanks in advance! I am excited to get this moving and keep the pond looking nice!

Don't buy aeration for algae control. It won't happen. If algae significantly decreases during or after aeration it is very likely due to some other factor. Nutrients feed algae. Put six aerators in your small pond and add some lawn fertilizer and watch the algae grow well.

Will also be part of a system using Cutrine for FA and ??? For chara likely Cutrine granules.

Thoughts on a pump or is there direction I don't need to aerate?
