My pond has been at full pool for couple months. I walked around it couple days ago and saw small baby minnows in the shallows. Thousands of them everywhere. How is this possible? Is there any downfall to having too many minnows?

1 1/4 acre L shaped pond, 6 to 9 ft deep. Finished 7/7/16. Stocked with LMB, HBG, BG, CNBG, RES, FHM. Can't wait to fish it. GO SAINTS!!!

Well my pond could be a unique situation but I have had to add another alpha predator because of too many large minnows. The larger minnows were eating our Perch minnows before they got a chance to grow to 5-6".
We added one walleye for now but hope to add more in the near future. Weather was just not cooperating last weekend.

It all depends on what the "minnows" actually are.

We have GSF and didn't know it until we started trying to catch some of the BG and RES we stocked back in July. Now I worry that I might have lost my LMB and many of the BG and RES fingerlings. Guess we'll see in the spring. Why not dip up some of those and post some pics. The experts can tell you quick what they are.
