If i were starting over I would not build a pond any smaller than 1 1/2 acres,2 acres would be an overall good size pond to grow just about anything.I would guess to get a 2 acre pond to look nice on your property you would probably need about 3 1/2-4 acres.be sure and have plenty of property to work with, if not the wife gets mad if you walk out the house and fall in water 3 feet outside the door.
