Flame I had forgotten about clipping two of the barbs off but did that on the rear hook on one small crankbait lure. I was catching lots of BG with it nearly always on the bottom hook and the rear trebble often got hooked near the eye or gill area and by clipping it to a single barb mostly eliminated the problem.
