what are some indicators that i can use to know when to stop culling.

i have a bass overpopulation, and i know i need to cull bass between 10-15inches...

i guess my question is.. how will i know when to stop?.. .when i stop pulling that size out?

and when will i be able to restock bgills..? (3-5 inch)?

Good question.

Best answer, get an electroshock analysis. Then follow their instructions.

Can't do that, pull out 20 to 30 bass per surface acre. Give it a year, if they are still skinny, and you see no baitfish (this is assuming you have adult brim) pull out 20 to 30 more. Keep going till you see fatter bass and abundant baitfish.

At a seminar I attended, the panel agreed that the best idea is to keep everything 12 inches and smaller. They said "Don't worry. It is doubtful that you can ever catch enough of them."

thanks for the reply's guy's... i'm going this weekend to do further research on our new lakes.. i pulled about 8 bass(10-15"), two redear (roughly 6-8") and one bluegill(5-6") out of one of our lakes.. and only 10-15" bass out of my other two lakes..so this weekend agenda is to fish for large bass with big baits on all lakes and fish for bgills/redear of all sizes on all lakes to get a better grip on whats in here.. but culling these bass is top on the list.

thanks again guys

"Honey, I'm sorry. I can't make dinner with you and your mother tonight. I've got so much research I have to get done...."

"No Honey, tomorrow won't be good either. What I discover during my research tonight will need even further research tomorrow."

"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
