I don't think there is many here that have fountains. When I first built out pond that was my thoughts too. Nice big fountain in the middle with some LED lights will aerate my pond for the fish and look good as a feature for the pond.

Boy oh boy do fountains take power to look good. If you want a starter you need minimum 5hp and up with as much gallons you can pump.

In the end I found that the fountain would have done little to no good for the fish for the cost to operate.

If you want a water feature as your main goal giver and make it look great. Just don't skimp on the HP if you think your going to be good with 5hp go the next size bigger still.
