That's one beutiful lake. Its going to be great when it is full. Just wanted to ask a few questions. What kind of fish are you going to but in it, what is the deepest point, how much rain you get, and what other kind of cover you are going to put in it.

The lake is already stocked with 6 year old florida bass, bream, and channel cats........

We are building some cover made of old pallets stacked on top of each other, old tires, etc......

This is the second summer we have drained this side of the lake, and the fish seem to come back to this side rather quickly.

The deepest point of the lake in on the undrained side which is about 14' at the old creek channel.

As far as rain goes....it really doesn't matter as this is a true watershed lake with over 200 acres draining into it. Now it does make a difference with clarity...and that is why we renovated.

Out of curiosity The area you are renovating now... how long ago did it have water in it? Is this a private project or a home-owners association type of thing?

Does the water flowing into the lake currently come from the creek for which it is named or other sources as well?

Going to be a nice big place when you are done.

Brian, Neat water hole. I particularly like the idea of the developer paying to redo it. I doubt that he volunteered just out of the goodness of his heart.

Where is this lake?

My question is how did you get the developer to pay for changes. I rarely come across a developement that has any planning involved for the pond or lake on the property. Most of them are only concerned about having waterfront property available.

Sure persistence with hounding the developer and dragging them to the site when we drained it last year to show them what they left us with is how we got it done. Believe me, the dodged left and right for the last 5 years, and it came down to them fixing it correctly, or the Owners Association take them to court. Myself, and others were extremely persistent, and did alot of the work ourselves, ie: draining the lake, clearing the old creek channel, etc.......

It wasn't easy, but never, never, never, give up!!
