Did you make the braces that the screws set on, or did you repurpose something? Do the stools swing freely with weight or do they bind at all??
Did you use a MIG on that?

I did fabricate the arms, they're cut from 3/8" plate. I purchased the wooden seats, the threaded rod, and those coupling nuts. Everything else was fabricated, or sourced from stuff I already had. The stools swing easily, even when seated upon, but I took extra time to machine clearances pretty tight...no slop to let the arms drop and bind.
The legs run through the floor, and tie into the 2 x 10 floor joists. I used the mig to tack everything, but the stick to make it permanent. I like the look of the table in the link Zep posted, and the price isn't that bad either. If you don't need a counter height unit, it looks like it might be okay. I always encourage anyone considering building it themselves, however. Not everyone is in a position to do so, but if you can, you should try it. There's a great deal more satisfaction gained from building a one-off piece yourself, than there is from signing a check and letting someone else do it.
