I've got pond cypress all around my .5 acre pond. They are really pretty and love the reddish orange colors in the fall, but I've been concerned about how much water they drink a day. Have two that are probably over 50ft tall. And maybe 20-30 in the 10 to 20ft tall range not to mention sapling everywhere. I also have pine and oaks. I can not maintain a full pond. Even with all the rains we've had this spring the water recedes at about 3-6 inches a day. Are cypress big water suckers?
