I had a huge GSH and RES sunfish hatch last year, I had newly hatched fry ringing the the pond in June and July, a little pause in August when it heated up, the again through September. This year I have only seen two small groups of fry so far and I haven't seen them again. The other night I made a dozen casts in a row into the same shallow spot and caught a little 3" RES on each cast.
