ewest, that is great info! Wish I would have seen it at the beginning of the week. I'm going to look into making a growout cage for future stockings.
RC, I didn't realize 100-150lbs was about the ceiling for predators in a 1 acre pond, but it makes sense. And, I love a good fish fry, so I'm exciting to try some of these HSB out!
Everything seems to have settled down in my pond, so hopefully some of these guys found a place to hide for the time being ... otherwise, I've got some happy LMB!
Yeah like Mr. Cody would say it all depends but 1 acre is NOT very big for all them meat eaters!! LOL. And as they grow and your BG grow and everything else grow your biomass could become topped out or close!! Specially if your not running air.... Just be careful and remember that harvesting some fish is a must at some point! Part of good management is learning what and when to harvest your fish too!
