I have pulled the trigger on repairing the dam. Whoever built the dam years ago was stupid and just pushed the organic material right into the dam. I had to pull Google Earth timeline back to 1998 to see it at full pool. Here is the start of the project at the start and then dug out. It is currently packed back in and compacted with that Case equipment 6 inches to a foot at a time. I have created a stair step beach area. and dug out a section that will end up being directly under my dock. You can see the black clay where the wood wrought and allowed the water to flow through under the dam.

I gotta ask, how hard was getting it unstuck??

2 Hours but we could have gotten it zippy quick if we'd have thought about hooking the logging chain to the track and used the motor to drive out. Instead we hooked it to the bucket and tried to raise the bucket to get tension and work against it. We just inched for two hours.

My question is not that its finished I want to ledge the pond so that no weeds grows next to the beach. How deep should that ledge be to suffice?
